COACH TERRY’S TAKE ON ROUND 10
Thursday, May 22, 2025

We’ve got a big challenge ahead of us this Friday night as we host the PNG Hunters 6.30pm at Jack Manski oval. Every time we face PNG, we know we’re in for a tough, physical contest, and this week will be no different. They play with a lot of pride and bring a lot of energy – they are also coming off a big win against top of the table Norths.
For us, the focus has been completing our sets especially in the second half. We’ve shown patches of really good footy , but we need to string together a full 80-minute performance. Defensively, we’ve identified a few areas where the Hunters like to strike – especially through the middle with their aggressive forward pack and quick play-the-balls – so controlling the ruck and staying disciplined will be key.

I’m proud of how our squad hung on last week against Souths Logan and its exciting knowing we have a lot of improvement still. We have a bye next week so we understand we can come off the field with nothing left in the tank.
We’re expecting a great crowd on Friday night. Townsville always turns out for big games like this, and the atmosphere helps lift the team. We are also celebrating a club legend in Kalifa as he recently broke the record for most games for the club.
Let’s make it a big night – see you at the game.
