You’re a returning Mendi Blackhawk correct?
“Yeah I’m a Mendi Blackhawk who’s come back. I was a junior here since under 16s and yeah debuted in 2019 played 2 games and then after that went down to North Devils and won a premiership. But yeah love being back, a few of the old fellas are still here like Kalifa… Oh wait he’s not old he’s still young.” (Laughs)
Why did you decide to come back?
“Townsville’s my home, I grew up here, I did my schooling at Kirwan… Bears boy! All my family are here, mum and dad are here so that made it really easy to come back and a big reason why I came back.”

What can you bring to the team?
“I like to think I’m aggressive and have footy smarts, like an intelligent player with ball skills and that. You can’t just always run straight and get smashed, you’ve got to be smart.”
Any goals for 2025?
“Just play good footy pretty much, yeah try and lock down a regular spot, play week in week out. And try and lead from the front and do that with my actions.”
How’s pre-season going?
“Well the weather makes it a lot harder and I’m a bit more beefier than the last time I was here. (Laughs) But I’ll drop weight in this heat easier, that’s for sure.”
