Why did you join the Mendi Blackhawks?

I’m cousins with Riley Price, who obviously played here, and also friends with Kyle Laybutt. Just had conversations with them, they really love the club and had nothing but great things to say. Plus I know every time we’ve played the Mendi Blackhawks it’s one of those tough matches, you know you’ve got to come physically and mentally, so yeah I had a lot of respect for the club.”

Can you tell us about your Hostplus Cup experience?

“I played 3 seasons with the Sunshine Coast Falcons but I only made a few appearances this year because I suffered a Lisfranc injury in round 4 and that was me done. So I’ve played roughly 30 odd games in the Hostplus Cup.”

How is your recovery going?

“Still rehabbing at the moment. Still going to see the physio, sort of make up a plan and see where I’m at but I’m doing some running. Hopefully over the next couple of weeks or even in the new year, I will be good to go. I’m just really looking forward to getting back to playing footy, I definitely have missed it.”

How would you describe yourself as a player?

“One of the parts of my game that I always rely on is my defence, I try and pride myself on that.  And then just being active especially when the game gets tough. So just trying to help the boys out as much as you can taking carries when needed and just being strong.”
