Western Corridor Tour 2015

MONDAY 30th NOVEMBER 2015

Today the Townsville & Districts Mendi Blackhawks began their Western Corridor Tour, visiting schools in Hughenden and Winton. The aims of the tour are:

  • Increase awareness of Townsville & Districts Mendi Blackhawks
  • Encourage participation in sport and physical activity
  • Promote Rugby League
  • Encourage healthy lifestyle choices
  • Promote our Club Values: TEAM FIRST, HONESTY & ACCOUNTABILITY
  • Connect with Clubs in the area and build relationships

 

Today Players Daniel Beasley and Hezron Murgha challenged the children to games including a push up contest and explained the importance of a healthy diet and remaining active through sport and recreation. The schools visited today were:

  • Hughenden State School
  • St Francis School Hughenden
  • Winton State School
  • St Patrick’s School Winton

 

TUESDAY 1st DECEMBER 2015

Today the touring group visited Richmond State School and Julia Creek State School. They were delighted to find that many of the children already knew of the Townsville & Districts Mendi Blackhawks and their achievements in Season 2015. Dan and Hezron spoke to the children on assembly about living a healthy lifestyle, handed out posters and also ran some fun activities. You will also find a photo of our Captain keeping up his sustenance between school visits with a big lunch!

This afternoon the boys are back on the road to travel to Cloncurry where they will visit schools tomorrow morning before heading to Mount Isa.

 

WEDNESDAY 2nd DECEMBER 2015

Today the group had a very busy but productive day, visiting Cloncurry schools in the morning and Mount Isa Schools in the afternoon. Townsville & Districts Mendi Blackahwks staff also attended the Mount Isa Rugby League AGM in the evening

  • Barkly State School

 

THURSDAY 3rd DECEMBER 2015

On Thursday morning the group attended schools in Mount Isa. In the evening the group attended the Mount Isa Touch Grand Finals.

  • St Josephs
  • Spinifex Senior Campus
  • Flexible Learning Centre
