Special Children’s Christmas Party 2015

The 2015 Special Children’s Christmas Party was held at Ryan Community Centre on Saturday 21st November. This wonderful annual event is for children who are either diagnosed with a life threatening illness, or who have a physical or intellectual disability.
On the day local businesses provide toys for distribution to the children attending and also supply volunteers to hand out toy sacks to the children. This year the staff and palyers at Townsville & Districts Mendi Blackhawks joined with the staff at Brothers Leagues Club to volunteer as Toy Room helpers to hand out Brothers Bears to children!
This annual event provides a unique and valuable social and networking experience for children with special needs and their families in a fun environment made possible by the generous support of local businesses.
The Townsville & Districts Mendi Blackhawks were grateful for the opportunity to participate in such a worthwhile event! We look forward to joining in the festivities again in 2016.
