Kirwan into the GIO Schoolboy Cup National Final
Friday, August 28, 2015
On Wednesday 26th August 2015 Kirwan State High School become the first North Queensland team ever to advance to the national final of the GIO Schoolboy Cup after a more than convincing 44-12 national semi-final victory over Canberra’s Erindale College.
The Kirwan side ran in eight tries in total with Enari Tuala (2), AJ Willis (2), Jack Althaus, Julian Christian, Brendan Skinner and Duarne Dempsey all sharing the spoils in front of a huge parochial crowd at Jack Manski Oval, home of the Townsville & Districts Mendi Blackhawks.
Kirwan will now have to wait three weeks to play Patrician Brothers Blacktown in the Grand Final. Surely all of North Queensland will be behind them. The Grand Final will be held in NSW.
