Team Announcement – Cowboys Trial Saturday 14th February

This Saturday will see the Townsville & District Mendi Blackhawks take to the field in their historic first home game at Jack Manski Oval. The Mendi Blackhawks have this afternoon announced the team who will take on the Toyota Cowboys in the match.

The team contains 12 players who didn’t play in the Blackhawks initial trial against the Pride this past weekend including former Cowboys players Wayne Ulugia, Ricky Thorby, Moses Pangai, Daniel Beasley, Nathan Norford and Michael Parker-Walshe, who are all looking forward to taking on some familiar faces.

Those Mendi Blackhawks players that did take to the field in the first trial against the Pride will be looking to continue to impress Coach Kristian Woolf. Especially trio Jonathon Reuben, Corey Jensen and Jack Kelleher who turned in notable first up performances and earned the praise of their coach.

“This trial will be a really good challenge for us as we will be facing a strong Cowboys line up. It will give us a decent gauge of both where our players are as individuals and also as a group. The boys are certainly gearing up for it.” Woolf said.
