Team Announcement – 1st Trial Saturday 7th February 2015

The Townsville and Districts Mendi Blackhawks will be taking on reigning Intrust Super Cup and NRL National Champions the Northern Pride this Saturday 7th February 2015 at Stan Williams Park in Cairns. The main game will kick off at 6:00pm. Tickets on sale at the gate, children under the age of 18 will be free of charge. The Townsville Stingers Cyril Connell and Mal Meninga Cup teams will be playing their first trials against their Northern Pride counterparts in the lead up to the main game.
Coach Kristian Woolf said that a heavy-duty pre-season has led to some impressive results in the fitness of the playing group. “Some of our squad are the fittest and strongest they have ever been so I am eager to seeing how they perform in a game situation.”
“Whilst the result isn’t important it is the first opportunity for any player to pull on a Blackhawks jersey and represent our club. That’s what we will be focusing on as a team. Ensuring we represent our values and come together out of the field.”
